Writing "about me" sections almost always makes me think of the Caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland breathing out the question "Who are you?"
Is it just me?
Hi, I'm Nicole Woolf! You may have found my website by searching words like "Anxiety" or "Cognitive Behavioral Therapy." Awesome, I specialize in anxiety, trauma and use CBT (and more)!
I would call myself a more non-traditional type of therapist. I'm about building connections with you since the therapeutic process is reliant on trust. I take on a more conversational approach to therapy.
So I'll start first since many clients may feel anxious starting. I grew up in Los Angeles, and I enjoy watching Battle Bots, quirky shows and movies, and Studio Ghibli. I read comic books (I prefer Dark Horse Comics), tinker with and build cars, and listen to musical break downs from Christian James Hand. I own a black cat, a dog and a ball python called Steve.
Other things that may be of interest to you: I try to be transparent as appropriate with my clients, answer questions to my best ability, and provide information and referrals. I ask for feedback so I can support you better in your healing process.
Finding the right therapist can be exhausting but there are so many possibilities for positive change that can happen when you find the right person. You may be feeling out of control, disconnected, numb and misunderstood. I commend you for seeking therapy.
